instaling DVD writer on the Computer???

how can i know if a dvd writer will work fine with my system??? i have heard that there might be a problam with the speed of transfering data ,if your computer is old ,and i would like to know if pentium 3 that was bought 4 years ago and works very well with evrything ,can handle a DVD format writer....

If you have a Pentium 3, more than likely any writer will be compatable with your computer. Before you buy one, I would check out the system requirements of the writer to ensure that it will work on your system.
