I've tried creating a dvd from my home movies using a pioneer dvr-a03 and failed. The dvd-r plays fine on my pc, but takes forever to load up on dvd player and when it finally does it skips tracks.
I used the myDVD software that came with it. myDVD allowed me to create chapters and menus with buttons to reference the chapters.
I didn't use the the pioneer media that came with the burner, but a cheaper brand. Not sure that makes a diff since it plays fine on my PC.

Any suggestions on where to go from here?

after searching some more I noticed that older dvd players have trouble reading 4.7gig dvd-r, but can read 3.95 gig dvd-r however dvr-a03 doesn't support writing to 3.95 gig dvd-r.
