Transferring HD advanced/loader across Mem Cards

I stumbled upon this site while searching for info on the HD loader and the memory card exploit.

A quick question i have is:

Is HD loader or HD advanced(which has already been put on an MC) transferrable from the MC to another MC which doesnt have the HD loader?

I figured since the program is like a file on the MC, you would be able to use the 'copy file' ability of the PS2. However i have heard something about the file being protected and not transferable.

Just wanted a confirmation on this and if there is anyway to copy the HD advanced file over to another MC

I think if you copied the systemconfig file from the memory card that you have it on to the other one it might work.As far as transfering files from the exploit inside the systemconfig file probably not possible,unless ftp method or some way to look inside of it to pull the needed files out.

thanks for the reply. copying the systemconfig would require the sharkport or Xport correct?

can u go into a little more detail as to how i can copy the systemconfig file?

Yeah you could use ARMax the newest version,all you need is the disc.It has a memory manager on there,and you can copy from one memory card to another.Then you could go with PS2link or some method like that to transfer ftp method or like you said usb method.I think there could be alot of methods that you could use man.I am not really sure what would be the best way to go about it,but ARMax the newest one is pretty easy to use.You could give that a try if you have it.

just put the memory card with hdloader installed into memory card slot 1

put the other card into slot two and just copy the system configuration file from slot 1 to slot 2 using the ps2 built in memory card browser.

its as easy as that?

I have not tried that method myself, but ive heard from others that tried that it cannot be done. Supposedly its protected, or so they say.

Has anyone else tried copying the system config file across mem cards using the ps2 memory card browser?

i have used the ps2 memory card browser to transfer the system config file to 4 of my familys ps2 memory cards.

believe me it can be done

try it and see.

someone made me a max drive save with the hdloader on it. then i used the max drive to put it on the card.
