At the end of my tether with this now, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Problem trying to use my new Pioneer DVR-108.
Using Windows XP Pro (SP2), Athlon XP Pro1600, 512Mb DDR, 160Gb Samsung spinpoint drive, Asus A7A266-E board with updated BIOS.
I have an old Ricoh DVD+RW MP5125 which burns quite happily at 2x over the past year but I was looking for something better. Use DVD Decrypter(3.5.1.0), DVD2ONE(1.5.1), Nero(6.3.1.20)
I checked the Pioneer website where they have a firmware upgrade to 1.14 from the current 1.06 I sent them an email asking if they thought that I should carry out this upgrade as it?s not reversible and I don?t want to void my warranty after only 3 days!!
Still waiting on a reply.

I/O Error!
Logical Unit Communication CRC Error (Ultra-DMA/32)

Means nothing to me but Alcohol120 gives ..

Completed a firmware upgrade to 1.14 as suggested by Pioneer engineer (good to see that their customer support is active).
Made no difference, tried new ribbon cable from motherboard, no difference.
Tried various brads of DVD and DVD speeds, no difference.

About to update Nero to 6.3.1.25 not giving this much hope either ...

Any ideas, please.
