AVI to MPEG using WinAVI

I have just downloaded WinAVI trial and have 4 Flip Albums of pictures to convert AVI to MPEG2.
Do I use --Convert AVI To MPEG2 or Batch Video files convertor ?
What do you recommend for height 176 to 960 & width 144 to 576 ?
Which one do you recommend for quality,Fixed , Highest, Higher, Middling, Lower, Lowest quality ?
I plan on using Nero 6 (oem) to burn to DVD.
