PS2 not remembering settings (language, timezone, etc)

Hi, after modding my PS2 with matrix infinity, I got a problem..

It booted once, I tried to boot a game, it showed the Matrix-logo, screen went black. I rebootet the PS2, something funky happened during the first screen with moving lights, it rebooted, and asked for language settings and timezone and stuff.

Now every time I boot, it asks me to enter the settings (language/timezone etc). For some reason it doesn't want to remember them. Anyone know what could have caused this? I'm gonna open up the PS2 and search for shorts later today, but if anyone has any suggestions it'd be great.
