i use Memorex DVD +R and i think they are the best for my V.9 PS2 =)

I have a v4 ps2 and I am using -r media. It is my understanding that some of the older versions will not read +r or even +/-rw media very well, if at all. I am using memorex -r media for mine and most of my backups of games have been successful. I recommend using only -r media but find some that you find to be compatible with your ps2 because I've experienced different levels of success using different medias. Maxell/memorex have worked good for me, but some people prefer ritek. It's just what you find that works good for you.
