Burning with Pinnacle Instant 8, anybody know how?

I am trying to make a backup copy of a few of my DVDs. I have ripped and shrunk the files. I burn the Video_TS and Audio_TS to a DVD-R disk and it plays fine on my PC. But, none of my DVD players at home or work will read the disk. I assume that I need to burn this as a "video" format. I assume that I burned the disk as a data disk, but I don't know for sure.
Question 1: Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
Question 2: Does anyone know if Pinnacle instant copy will shrink and copy for me instead of me going through the shrink process?
