My PS2 won't stop ejecting. . .

Every time I turn on the PS2 it automatically ejects and the blue light for the tray is always blinking unless its ejected from the ps2. Obviously I can't play any games when its ejected. I've tried dusting the ps2 and disconnecting and reconnecting my HDD. I've held down the power and eject buttons for ten seconds and also removed the controllers and memory cards.

Anybody know why this happens?

it sounds pretty serious, maybe you should go get it returned if its new or fixed...
