there are two main ways to boot a backup game, one way is using a boot disc (eg. swapmagic) with a fliptop/slidecard/no solder mod the other is a noswap solder chip are you having a problem with a specific game or all backups, what type of boot method are you using?

All backup games. I have my PS2 mod with Magic 3.1 chip. I use Nero, dvd decryptor, and Alcohol 120%, but none of them work. Just wouldn't boot.

right still a strange speed for -r to burn at, you say you have booted psx games, have you ever booted a ps2 backup? what version of ps2 are you using? also what brand of dvdr discs are you using? are you using the correct method for the magic 3.1 to boot your backup? what happens when you try to boot your backups? do you have a friend with a modded ps2 you can try your backups on to make sure its a problem with the backups and not with your ps2

i would not like to say if burning a 1x would solve your problem or not as i asked before do you have a mate with a modded ps2 that you can try your backups on to see if they work to make sure that the problem is with your backups and not your ps2

I do have friend that have a mod ps2 but they have later versions, like maybe v4 and up. What they told me was just use Nero and direct copy it, it'll load like just a normal game. I follow their directions and nuttin. Or can it be the media problem cause it's a 8x disc?

it could be a media problem as some other forum users have reported problems using 8x media for ps2 backups so if you can get a single disc from somewere(swap a disc with a mate, scrounge one from him) to try and try writing it as slow as possible and see if that works for you
