Hi could anyone recommend a way of changing a mpeg to a mpeg 2 please?

sure...

I use MainConcept MPEG Encoder to that chore , and the reason I often utilise that particular software application is because it encodes much quicker than all I've tried.
It easy to use aswell , but it's big drawback for most ppl is that it is not freeware ... whereas TMPGEnc encoder is !
There are plenty more alternatives out there aswell but if I were to suggest one I would probably say MainConcept (cos I hate waiting for more hrs than are actually required)

when you've researched certain software(s) & maybe looked up a few guides to see how they're used etc ... then I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have then aswell

(helpful for dvd player compatibilty list / dvd writer list / guides .. etc etc)
