What is the best method to back up movies?

Depends on what kind of movies and what you want to do with them.

They are both great X Copy is very good all in what program.
And Shrink is awesome and it's free of course you'll need a burning program "nero" to burn your projects after using Shrink/

Shrink gives you a few quality options that XCopy doesn't, plus choice of editting to put what you want on your DVD. I have both and use Shrink almost exclusively.
