Is the flip top combo as good as a modchip??

Hey guys I've been looking into get either a flip top and disc's or a modchip But i really don't want to open up my ps2 If the flip top thing works just as good. So If anybody can give me there opinion on that please tell me...

the swap magic and fliptop/slide card combo works quite well i would say swap magic can load 98% of games on its own and used in conjunction with cd/dvd loader it will load about 99.5% of games, for a list of problem games and there fixes check out http://www.swapmagicfix.com
