i'm wanting to archive videos to a DVD format. what media type is most compatible with set top DVD players? DVD-R? thanks

If it is very important stuff you want to archive, Mitsui Media has always been the best. If you are looking for cheap, perhaps someone else can help.

I use either traxdata (dark purple - like verbatim darkness) or datasafe classic.

maybe source a company that will send you a trail pack of different media.

ok, i know i said "media" but what i meant was "format". there's DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW.....which format is most compatible?

I have only used dvd-r so can`t say.
