Hello,

I'm not sure whether this is a DVDxDV-specific problem or can be solved more generally.

I'm using my 30G iPod as a media storage drive in addition to using it for music. I'm running with an iBook running MacOS X.2.8.

I bought a program called DVDxDV last week that converts DVD files into Quicktime files. I did this because I'm a video artist and have lots of DVDs sitting around without copies.

Anyhow, everything worked fine before I messed up my iBook's system by stuffing it too full of files. I had to do a restore from my backup hard drive (thank you SuperDuper!) and then everything seemed fine again.

Except - when I went to use DVDxDV to save to my iPod, it wouldn't work. I can save to my other external (non-portable) Firewire drive and to my own disk, but not to the iPod.

I then backed up all the media on the iPod, and restored it to factory settings. When I did that, I was able to save to it from DVDxDV. So then I just copied all my files back to it (including syncing up my music again).

And it wouldn't work again!

If anyone has insight, please let me know. The best solution would be a nice new 15 inch titanium with a big enough hard drive to hold all my files :-) Barring that, however, I really need to find a solution to this.
