My brother has a HP burner and when we try to play dvds with only a few scratches that have been rented his burner wont read the discs. They work fine on his PS2 and my dvd-rom so is this standard of burners to be very picky when it comes to simply reading the discs? Also I was thinking of buying a burner of my own so I was wondering if I bought one off of ebay if it would be easy to just install and register it with my computer even though I wouldnt have a cd with it. I was thinking about this one here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=51068&item=5133201388&rd=1

Thanks
