Sounds like the rar file is corrupt. Check the download - if you torrented it, you can force a re-check to scan the file to make sure it matches what you should have downloaded.

I have tried 'Force Re-Check', double clicking on the file, 'right click' 'extract to ...', nothing seems to work all with the same error message 'No Archives Found'.
I normally use 'Extract Here' and it works fine.
If someone is able to point me in the right direction with this it would be most helpful cause there 6.5 GB I'd like to be able to utilize.
You might have a bad file. If you have rechecked it against a torrent, then the file was probably bad when the torrent was created, or a fake. Look for some information from the source.

Indeed, I've had files download before as .rars that were corrupt - for giggles I dropped it into mediaplayer and to my amazement a porno movie started playing - these torrent uploaders can be sneaky folk.

Alright I understand this thread is very old and spans over the years, but....I read the whole thread last night and some people mentioned my problem but a answer never came.
I recently downloaded a 4.5 gb torrent file that came in four parts that in in data.001,002,003,004.
I attempted winrar, unticked iso tab and added user defined .001. winrar says that its unknown format or damaged.
Successfully extracted a 4.5gb file with 7-zip though the file still just ends in nothing for extension and it states that its just a data file.
I then successfully joined the file with hjsplit and once again is 4.5gb .data file and for type it states joined file. I attempted to burn those images, burn iso through nero nothing, also attempted to mount to daemon, cannont get file to work, starting to think its corrupt. Just dont wish to re dl all over again if there is any fix for this

Hello - Have read all the threads and my head hurts but have these 50+ rar files and WinRAR but cant seem to extract the files into anything but another rar folder. Is there anywhere to visit that gives a step by step instruction. Have tried right clicking, left double clicking and even did hand-stands with no success. Thank you all that reply and remember...it's my first time!!.

Extracting for ISO?
If you right clicked "Extract here",that 2nd set of rar files should have had an ISO at the bottom of all those 50+ little book icons.Click on that icon and burn with ImgBurn, nero burning rom, etc.
I just did my 1st one the other day,I'm still suffering headaches, LOL. I'm still a newb at this .rar crap.
If you're doing something else besides extracting for the ISO,then I'm not much help, LOL!
Of all the googling and searching I did, most of the searches brought me here to AD.

unless it shows a ISO file it probly extracted another set or a single RAR file that needs extracted it self
then you should have the file your looking for
or someone could be playing tricks and just RAR'ed it over and over [been doing this over 8 years and I've never seen this done ]
if it comes up asking for a password on secound file you can find and or crack the password but I'd just delete it and try again with different uploader
hope this helps

Originally posted by ge0127: I downloaded a game, obviously in rar. Using WinRar gave me a bigger rar file by the same name, which in turn I decompressed again. The end result was a number of files and folders only two of which were numbered. These two were DAT files. HJSplitter didn't recognise any of the files and DVD Decrypter only "saw" a few(out of a much bigger number of) files that were named JIA2US ,COMMAND or DNAS300. I really tried figuring things out through the forums, but just couldn't find a similar situation. I would really appreciate some help.
you can't use winrar you have to use the normal extractor

HJsplit never really worked for me. Did some searching and came across this. Hope this helps. It's nice b/c it associates itself w/ the .001 file format so when I download a set of files (like movie.wmv.001, movie.wmv.002, etc), I just double click the .001 file and it's all done. fast and pretty too. have fun!

Winrar opens .001 files. Right click-> open with -> winrar, tick 'always use this application for this file type' and you're done.
