I am buying a DVD from region 1 but my player is region 2, if I make a copy of it using DVDshrink the copied disk becomes region free, correct? But will it still play on a PAL tv?
Thank you for your patience

Please note that a region 1 DVD is going to be coded in the NTSC format. A region 2 DVD is going be PAL. The format can be changed using software such as Nero but will take several (4-12) hours to transcode.

So, Its just like making a backup, (Shrink/Nero), of any region 2 disk but its going to take an awful lot longer? Is that right?

Thanks again

Yes. If you have NERO, you can use Nero Vision Express or Nero Recode. I have heard others use Nero Recode. I did it with Nero VisionExpress. Your best resource is searching these forums. Scan for "PAL to NTSC" or "NTSC to PAL" and you will get a lot of info from others who have done this. These are great forums with a wide array of knowledge. Better than any software manual. Here are my steps:
1. Read DVD with DVD Decrypter, output "files"
2. Read files with NERO (transcode from NTSC or PAL to PAL or NTSC
3. Use DVD Shrink, if needed.
4. Burn with DVD Decrypter, NERO, etc.
Best of luck. Let us know how long it takes.
