Try downloading other files, or changing the way you connect / settings in the options. And make sure your P2P software is updated.

It's my new anti-n00bspelling tactic. Write how they write, so they'll realise they talk gibberish =D

winxp sp2 will cause that to happen for P2P sites.
If you have sp2, want to keep it there is a fix. The autors site:
http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools#4226patch
"Event ID 4226 Patcher (4226 fix)
What's this all about?
After almost everybody knows the <<EventID 4226: TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts>>, I used a day to create for educational purpose a fix for this argumentative feature.
Unfortunately there exists no REG-key which could easily be set (would be so nice and easy, right? *smile*). The file TCPIP.SYS in the directory C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS and C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386 has to be changed (system dependend eventually in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE, too)."
There is a updated file there now.
used it my self, there are risks so read all about it.
I try to run sfc/scannnow with the orginal CD.
Could not because windows no longer knew what version it was running. I don't know if there is a uninstall.
also you can add sites to your sp2 security list of safe sites. hope some of this helps
Each P2P site has a forum you could also check there for the latest problems and fixes. Thier Links are on the Ares site web page.
Registry key to turn off sp2's firewall.

hi, mezza999
are you using latest program ver.? how long did you wait for connection? using windows xp sp2? Some time for me anyway rechecking my steps checking for bugs and just cleaning up pc works.
are you on dial up, DSL, Satellite? Have you checked in your Warez options? what port, how many downloads, uploads, stuff like that?
If you uninstall, re install did you take Warez out of the registary before you re installed? check the little things first.
Grateful for any and all helpful information and guidance. Thank you arnold2
