For about a month ago, I bought HD Advance and a network adapter, and used my Maxtor 60gb drive. I installed a couple games via HDL_dumb 0.5, and it worked great.

Yesterday I installed a couple more, and when I start up my HD Advance, it says "Hardware error", and it can't find the disk. I've checked to see if it was connected right, which it was. I then put the drive back in my PC, and erased the games I just installed, and tried again. Same problem.

Then I formatted it on my PC to the NTFS filesystem, and put it back in my PS2. It still can't find it.

Why oh why.. *sniff*

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

the ps2 doesnt support ntfs file system you would have to format it to the ps2 format use winhiip to format it with the ps2 format

HD Advance should still detect the drive, and let me format it.

Yeah, it works perfectly fine on my PC. It just stopped detecting on my PS2. I can see the yellow HD LED light up in the PS2, so it does read on it. But won't detect it anyway.

I just found out, it's a IBM Deskstar 60gb. An I got hold of another Deskstar disk with 25gb, it works like a charm.. I just don't get it.

I ran Hitachi Drive Fitness Test, and it found nothing wrong with the disk. I then cleaned the boot sector and tried it again. It still won't recognise the 60gb disk.

Still no one out there with a magic solution? :/
