What brand of blank discs are you using? What programs are you using to back up your dvd?

You will find that a lot of people have had trouble with Memorex media. This could be the problem. i have used DVDXCopy in the past and had no trouble with the program. I use Verbatim and Ritek blank discs now and have no problem playing them in any of my stand alone players. Try one of these types of media and see if it will work.

If your burner can burner either type, I would suggest the -R format. It is a little more compatible with more players.
