I was browsing true the forum but there is so much information that I could not find the answer on my question. I?m really sorry if my question already is somewhere on the forum. My question is how I can get the game that I downloaded on my PC on my PS2 hard disk (with PS2 hard disk I mean my 40GB Maxtor) without using a slide card or a mod chip.

I just ordered a Network adapter and Advanced HD 2.0. And I've got a normal PS2 (no mod-chip or flip top). Can some please help this newbie get started.

Yeah, I'll help you out. Search for PC Handiness or WinHIIP on google. Either of those programs will allow you to tranfer iso images from your pc harddrive to your ps2 hd (but you must first format it using the hdloader disc after its been connected to the ps2 via the network adapter). Make sure your hd you intend to use for the hd is set to master. Conenct it via the network adapter, and load the disc. Hd loader will prompt you to format and this should only take a few moments.

Good luck.

Oh, and you need to disconnect the hd from the ps2 after formated, connect it to your PC with a standard ide cable (SATA if you've got it) and run the program. It should recognize your drive as a ps2 formated drive and gives options for what iso to copy and what name to give it. I've yet to do this but I installed the app and will use it for GTA San Andreas real soon.

Oke thanx for your help so far. But I want to transfer the iso from my PC to the Hard disk while the Hard disk is still in the PS2. I don't want to get it out of there all the time. Do you know what I mean....

I have a question... if I put my ps2 hdd in my PC, is there then a way to edit the game files. The reason I'm asking is that i installed star wars battlefront with hdloader and it didn't work, and I read somewhere that all I have to do is edit the system.cnf file to get battlefront to work.

I need to get what you are saying dlocke straight. I have hdloader(non-hacked) and HDD installed in my PS2 (San Andreas working perfectly). Now, if I use WinHIIP to transfer ISO'S to my PS2 HDD(I understand that I must install the hd into my PC), I will not need any other mods to my PS2 to play these transfered ISO's(such as modchip or Swap Magic, etc.) Appreciate any and all help in this matter...

I have a similar question. I just built a HTPC and i want to use my 160 maxtor from my ps2 for my recorded tv, but i want to keep some of my games i already have on there amd place them on a smaller maxtor drive from my pc to put back into my ps2. I have hdloader and launch ps2. how can i accomplish this feat?

From what I understand you can use Naplink (which requires buying a $20-30 PC-PC USB transfer cable) or set up FTPExec (FTP Server software for the PS2). Using either one of those you can upload ISO's to your PS2.

Yes you can just yank the HD out and connect it in your computer...use WinHIIP to transfer the images.

Right now I use a USB hard drive enclosure for this.
