I have tried to back up Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Yu Yu Hakusho: Dark Tournament. I used DVD Decrypter with memorex dvd-r, with an Iomega Super DVD USB 2.0 drive to burn them. Everytime I try to burn the backups I get a incompatible medium and semaphore timeout error. Do I need to get a diffenet brand and if so what brand is good?

I'm yhinking about buying a firewire drive for my computer and using that with the burner, would that get rid of the semaphore timeout error and incompatible medium?

Same as really...use DVD Decrypter to rip to an ISO and also to burn the image file, ALWAYS choose 1X speed & the best discs to use are Ritek GO5's in my opinion.

I burned GTA San Andreas using the above on an LG Rewriter and it's as smooth as the original, no blackouts no slow loading or skipping.

Can you only get Ritek dvd's over the internet?

Depends where you live PAL. But most PC shops in the UK have many types of blank DVD's. I get 25 blank Riteks for £10 which is pretty good value for money

Nope...They read +R as well. I backed up my GTA SA on Maxell DVD+R, and it works perfectly.

For GTA SA: +R good / -R Bad

No they won't it appears to be hit and miss, I have a PS2 V7 and it won't play backed up DVD movies using Verbatim DVD+R's.
