Magic V chip????

I just bought a Magic V chip and Iv'e instaled it in my playstation and all I get is a black screen. I checked all my wires 3 times iv'e even took the chip out and tryed my playstation to see if it was ok and it works fine. reinstaled the chip and still get the same thing. The R wire is also by its self If anyone is asking. If anyone knows what I should try please let me know. I don't need a loading disk for that??
