DVD ripping to CD-R

Hi

im new to DVD ripping, im trying to transfer some of my DVDs to CD-R so I can still watch them on my other system.

I wish to turn the DVD into 2 full CDs (divx avi), I have tried several programs already and tried changing rez, sound quility ect but they all seem to turn into the same size first part 700mb 2nd part about
100-200mb.

I am looking for a program that I can just tell it 2 parts full 700mb each and have it sellect the best possable qulity.. something along those lines, is there any thing out there like this?

PS most of the DVDs I have are 7gig
