Hey, I see that a DVD-R that has a capacity of 4.7 gig and only 120 min of video. Is it really 120 min? Or can you fit more? If so, how?

The bit-rate is everything when it comes to overall playback time. For example, "Dune" is a 137 minute movie that fits nicely on one dvd. "Shrek" is only a 90 minute movie, but will *not* fit.

The '120-minute' figure is just a rough estimate based on 'average' bit-rates. For 120 minutes-worth of playing time, the manufacturer 'Verbatim' says your video must have an average bitrate of 5.1 Megabits per second.
