Magic 5k6 on a v10 ps2

Hi all I have fitted a 5k6 on my ps2 but it doesn't seem to want to boot anything....everything seems to work ok just until it boots pass the normal screen when you turn the unit on...but never gets to the "Playstation 2" logo. and the screen just turns blank....any ideas?

I have checked with a Multimeter that it is connected properly.

black screen problems with the magic 5 are sometimes caused by the timing wire, check that your timing wire (r) is routed away from the other bios wires as in this image http://www.weblogimages.com/v.p?uid=doug&pid=137437

Is the screen usually blank right away? or does it blank out after the normal boot up screen, (where it is suppose to display the "playstation 2" logo and then the game.) ?

Hi all...it is still not working...I have basically re-run all the wires and the R wire is by it self run over the 5k6 chip. The screen just blanks out after the sonly logo and the logo seem to disappear earlier than normal....it seems it isn't reading the disc or something......please Help
