im using dvd decrypter, i tried my first movie[spider-man]after reading it it said that it is like 7gigs.my disks are only 4.7 . i then wrote it to a disk & and an eror came up. so i thought i would try it anyway. played it in my dvd player & got almost through the movie & [dirty disk] came up over the screen on my tv & player. is there any way i can use dvd decrypter to get this on one disk? i have dvd x-copy also & it worked fine ,put the whole movie on there with no prob

Hi Bulldog

You do need to compress the movie in order to get it on a 4.7 GB disc. The best program I know (& one that everyone here seems to recommend too) is DVD Shrink, which you can find in the software section at the top of the page.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter which way around you use the programs. I have run Decrypter first, then Shrink + burn. I have also run Shrink first, then Decrypter + burn. Scuba Pete's incredibly helpful guide recommends the latter process. It's probably also a good idea to shut off all other non-essential PC processes (e.g. internet, firewall, antivirus, etc) and leave the PC to work undisturbed while it decrypts & compresses & burns.
