I also am new to DVD ripping. I have no problem burning from disc to hard drive. However, when I put a blank disc in, I select the movie from the hard drive and it won't let me input into the "from".

My burner shows up ok, but I cant transfer the file over.

Can someone please help.

Thanks.

DVD Decrypter will only burn ISO's. So when your rip to your HD, you have to rip in ISO mode and not file mode.

I posted a guide on how to do it. Why not try to use the guide?

How did you do this? When you did that, you ripped in File Mode, which is why DVD Decrypter didn't pick it up.

Everything you need to know how to rip in ISO mode to your HD is on page 2 of the guide.

I read the guide before I ever used DVD Decrypter, and followed it to the T when I burned movie to hard drive. The problem lies as I don't know how/where to save an ISO file.

Thanx.

What?? Anywhere on your harddrive. By default DVD Decrypter saves it to your local disk. Only you will know where it is saved. Some people create a movie folder then change the path.

Can you confirm you ripped it in ISO mode? And do you have a ISO Image file on your hard drive?

Flip, I appreciate your timely responses. I'll need some help here.

Ok here's what I did. First I loaded the movie, launched decrypter, clicked on mode ISO - read. then directed to save in my documents file under my videos. Then I clicked the burn button. After about 15 mins. It said burned successfully.

I then went into my folder (my videos) and tried to send that file over to DVD Decrypter, only after selecting mode ISO - write. I couldn't however get the file to transfer to the "from" box.

I need to know WHERE to save. Also HOW to save this movie AS ISO file.

Thanks.

Again, it doesn't matter where you save it. You documents file is fine. And, when you rip in ISO mode (ISO READ R), it will create the ISO file.

Open DVD Decrypter, click mode then ISO Write W. Then your going to have to browse for the ISO file ... which is in your documents folder.

Or, just click on the ISO file in your My Documents folder ... it should launch DVD Decrytper.

Ahhh, we're finally on the same terms. When I browse for the item after it's been ripped, I find it in my documents file. I click on it and it does not do anything. For example the file is called Alien...for example. I click on that and it opens a file called TS Video. I click on that and nothing happens. I would expect that it would pop right up on the Write portion of Decrypter. But it does not. How do I get this file to open on decrypter?

You need to re-check what your doing. You are creating a video_ts file.

Put the movie in, cancel out anything that pops up. Then open DVD Decrypter, click mode then ISO Write W, then click rip.

That's what I did, put the movie in clicked mode, write, and saved it to documents file, then clicked rip. It completed it successfully...so it said. But I do get a Video TS file. Which won't save as an ISO file.

O/S? is Windows XP the right answer?

If you open DVD Decrypter -> click mode -> choose File F ... you will end up with a Video_TS file (lots of files in that folder)

If you open DVD Decrypter -> click mode -> choose ISO Read R ... you will end up with a ISO file (one file)

Thanks, the problem is when I am ready to write. I cannot click on a file to send it to be copied. Do I need to send it to another program such as Nero? It won't pop up in the file waiting to be copied area.

My whole point I've been trying to make is DVD Decrypter will ONLY burn ISO files. Which is why you need to create an ISO file for DVD Decrypter to burn.

Yes, Nero will work. Or Roxio or CopyToDVD.

Also, if your doing a dvd9 .. a movie that is over 4.35GB your going to have to compress the movie.
