I came across this forum while searching for a solution for my copying problem. I am new in copying protected cds. I am trying to backup my Delta Force: Taskforce Dagger game. I have a CloneCD 4 and I have downloaded the ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6 just the other day and installed in my system. Please tell me if I am doing something wrong. I first run the ClonyXXL, then scan cd. It tell me that the cd is protected with SafeDisc 2.6. Then I select run CloneCD, then from CloneCD, I select write to image. After creating the image, I burn the image. The copied cd autorun, I can install from it but when I play the game, it loads but it comes back with some error message. I use Plextor PX-W2410TA (Internal) as a reader and writing. Any help out there please?

Clony XXL is good, but not that good. I'm still trying to make a backup of Diablo 2 in CloneCD as well b/c the CD is very scratched.

There are rumours that a new version of Clony might be out.

I used Blindwrite and the game still doesn't recognize my burn. Arrgh!

The error message says "DFTFD.exe has encountered a problem and will be closed. Sorry for the inconvenience.", "Send the report", "Don't Send".

My CloneCD write settings are:

Write Speed: Max
Amplify Weak Sector
Always close last Session

I found something today too, I tried to mount the image that I wrote and run it and it's working fine. I can play the game without any problem. I use Daemon Tools which I have just downloaded to mount the image. Does this mean that the image I have written is good and is a 1:1 copy of the original? Does this mean also that my write settings in the CloneCD is not set correctly? I have already used 4 blank CD-R without success.

I have downloaded BlindWrite and tried it too without any success.

Looks like that your drive cant re-produce the protect CD correctly with CloneCD.

Hey, do us a favour and try with Alcohol: http://www.cd-rw.org/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/alcohol120.cfm

The old school is back. All hail the new http://BitBurners.com !

I wanted to let you know that Alcohol worked perfectly for my Diablo 2 Cd.

CloneCD and Blindwrite [both fairly new or next to new versions] couldn't do it.

Thanx a million. :)

Thanks guys. I have downloaded the TRIAL version of the Alcohol 120%. I hope I won't get drunk so easily with that percentage of alcohol, lol. I will try it this night hope this works. Wonderful people, thanks again.

I tried the Alcohol 120% last night but still I can't get a 1:1 copy of my Delta Force: Task Force Dagger. First I created an Image then write the image to the CD-R. The copy cd only highlights the Multiplayer Option and the Audio/Video Option. Here is what the Eventlog says:

Oops...hmmm...Sorry, I posted the wrong event log. This is from BlindRead/Write. I thought I was able to save the log for the Alcohol 120%. I will post that tomorrow.

In the support clinic for Alcoholic's, there is a great HOW-TO for backing up protected games.

cd-rw.org,

Thanks a million. I borrowed my friends LTR-49125W and tried the settings that Alcohol forum had suggested and I was able to copy the DFTFD 100% workable cd. The Litey is really a good writer. I will keep the Plexy as a second writer when I buy a Litey. Thanks.

Yeah, thanks again. BTW, do you know what happened to club.cdfreaks forum? I don't seem to get to their site. I am not sure if it is my isp blocking it or there is really a problem with their site. I hope this is not a cross post, just asking anyway.
