I'm new to the dvd ripping and need help
i have a pioneer dvd writer and need to know which is the best software to do a straight dvd 2 dvd copy of an original.

I don't think you find any such software (at least not yet). One reason is of course that regular DVD movies are normally dual layer discs and currently only writable DVD format is single sided single layer disc.

I'm not sure, but I assume you actually have to rip the movie from the DVD to harddrive into MPEG-2 format and then author it again to your own DVD. Manuals for DVD authoring can be found from here:
