Hello. I am new here and need some help with a problem of mine. I am attempting to fix a box for a friend and found out that his hdd is completely shot. I need to know how I can install a new drive while still using the same motherboard. From my research I have found that I need a mod chip, and the dashboard software. In all of this though, I have not found out how to replace a drive when the origional died and information cannot be taken off of it. All of the tutorials I have seen make you use the origional drive, which I can not.
So please help me figure out what I need to do to get another drive in the box with the origional being shot. Thanks Alot!

simply get a modchip like the Xenium Solderless for $51 here http://www.xbox-modchips.com/xenium-solderless.htm

then install the chip into the xbox system, you do not need a working HD to do this :)

Now simply get an Dashboard install disc like "Slayers Auto Installer v2.6 FINAL" http://slayer.xbox-scene.com/ you will have search google for the BIT TORRENT of slayers 2.6

Once youve got that burn it to disc, put a new hard drive into your system and pop in the slayers AUTO INSTALLER disc and install the new DASH as well as the original MS DASH


You will be good to go in no time, plus you will have a better xbox that will allow you to do far more then a standard unit.
