trouble making a dvd backup

I have followed what bigorange said to do to make a backup dvd. When I get to the end and click ok, I get a message that says it has a copy protec. error, need a valis css key. I am doing something wrong.
I have use this site for helping me, its great! Now I am stuck.

It could be caused by a cheap disc or by a proggy that requires DVD Decrypter to rip first. More information needs to be supplied.

What programs are being used ?
When you get to the end of exactly what and then clicked OK for what reason ?
What brand of media is being used ?
Is this a ripped DVD or a download and what format is it in ?

What guide are you following ?
