I am using DVD Decryptor 3.5.1.0 to rip to the Hard Drive for Playback (I am using the command line). When I rip using the all files mode, my movies play just fine in my player (WinDVD6P). When I use the Movie Files Only Mode, the IFOs don't play.

Does anyone know how to get DVD Decryptor to rip just the main movie only to the Hard Drive for playback? ((e.g. is there a setting or some type of file selection to make this work?)

More info: I tried selecting all vts_01* files (File Mode)- didn't work. I tired selecting vts_01* and video_ts* - didn't work. (FYI - movie files only results in copying vts_01.ifo and all vts_01*.vob files - didn't work.
I noticed that some of the pay programs allow you to cut the menu and extras... doesn't DVD Decrytor do this?

Question 2) Does DVD Shrink accept command line commands? What other good programs are there that might do this? If I could get DVD Decryptor to cut those in play from Hard Drive configuration, I would be happy :-)

Thanks.

Hi infinguy, welcome to aD,

First off, IFO files cannot play anything, they are information files (check the Glossary at the top of each page), the same for Bup's (they are kind of "backup" information files) VOB's contain all the movie information (Audio and Video). Second, I've forgotten most of my command line functions so play with that yourself (me, I'd just use windows, why not?).
Finally, DVD Decrypter is a super ripping and burning proggy not a combo of proggys that you can ask to rip "Movie only, PLEASE". If you want that, edit your movie using DVD Shrink in the re-author mode OR something like DVDFab, CloneDVD2, DVD2One, XCopy (lousy proggy w/ no proggy support) OR any of the other 20, 30 or more proggys that are out there -

Though why you wouldn't use DVD Shrink for FREE I can never guess -

Cheers, and have a Happy Thanksgiving -

Pete

I have DVD Shrink, but I am looking for command line support. Do you know if DVD Shrink has such a feature? Do any of the other programs you listed have that feature? And do they require a registration fee? I like DVD Shrink, but I am looking for something that I can program some buttons on my system (via command line or windows messages).

Thanks for the help :-) Any other info you could share would be greatly appreciated!

I'm sorry, if you're asking what I think you're asking - you want something that you can type a command at your C:\ to have it operate -

I'm at a loss.

If that's what you want let me know and I'll look for someone for you -

Pete

I would be interested in finding out the command line options for DVD Shrink as well. I know that DVD Decryptor has full support by command line, but there is not as extensive options as DVD Shrink would have.

Anyone know what options are available from the command line using DVD Shrink?

bsimecek,

Look for cynthia (My personal friend ddlooping is working elsewhere but she would be my second choice -)

If anyone can help, they can. Also, it is the home of Mr. DVD Shrink, though he's extremely hard to get hold of, you never can tell -

Good luck,

Pete
