I am new to video editing, ripping, burning, etc.

I would like to convert a .avi (XviD) fil to mpg so I can view it on my DVD player in the living room. For some reason, this particular file will not encode with sound. Even when using the preview option in TMPGEnc Xpress, there is no sound. When the XviD version is played in WMP or VLC obviously there is sound. Any other avi until now has worked just fine with the trial version of Xpress.

I haven't put the file in Gspot so I don't know what has been used to encode sound in this file.

Suggestions/comment are very welcome.
