gameshark w/ smart magic

Can some one tell me the steps to use my gameshark v2 with the smart magic swap disks? I have version 2 for the swapmagic dvd. I put in the gameshark have it start with codes I then eject door and put in the swapmagic disks and the screen goes black but never comes up asking me to insert disk. If I turn off codes then it will ask for the disk I can play but of course without the codes. Any help please. Thank you.
