Hi, I have original starview which is working fine and then I have the box which has lost most of the sky channels. API 4.51e_E Boot version 7.0 Is there any other software that should be in The BOX instead of what is on it now. Any help would be much appreciated.

try this should work for you
1 make sure your incoming cable is connected to the cable input on the box and not going thru a splitter
2 Make sure you have a scart lead connected to the tv on the box and connected to AV1 or EXT1 only also make sure you check this
as been a proper working scart
3 Next go to menu factory settings and press ok put in 0000 code press ok to clear all data
4 Make sure you turn the box off at the mains for 1 min and turn back on again
5 Accept the language
6 Installation put your provider in the top box then do an auto scan wait for this to finish even if you see failed a few times this is normal
so just be patient till it has finished
7 When this is finished exit out to main tv screen
8 Then go to menu and press 1570 on the key pad into secret menu and turn the EMU on which has been switched off by default
9 Exit out 3 times to main screen and put the box on to the tv channel sky sports 1 and wait for this to update this could go up as far as 250%
so again be patient and wait also do not change the channel while this is been done or you will have to start all over again

Tried to do manual scan on the box but no joy. Have done factory reset and full auto scan and all channels back but don't really want to have to do this all the time. I flashed the starview box and have had no problems since. I have the null modem cable so if there is newer software I can flash the box with it. Thanks in advance.

i have a clone starview with the fixed 257ee bin file uploaded a couple of months ago, it was working fine up until a few days ago when i found i had some missing channels, i have done a rescan but to no avail, is there a new bin file for clones what i need to fix it or do i have to do something else, please help

do a factory reset first then autoscan ur provider and emu to on,channels move frequency and that is why u lose them.

I have a clone Starview with API 2.57e_E, Bootver7.0, dated 16 Aug 2006.
I have flashed it with 2.57e_E FIXED. All is working great but when I go into system info it still reads APIver:2.57eE, Boot ver: 7.0, date 16 Aug 2006. My query is have I successfully flashed with the Fixed version or do I have to wait until the codes change again to see if I have been successful.

Just press Menu - enter 1570 to Cas System - scroll down to Set Default Key - press OK and exit out to Sly sports or any encrypted channel and see if it updates. "The dates and system info are the same and are correct - it just doesn't say FIXED"

did you just rescan or did you do a factory reset on your box as that is prob what you will need to do to get them back otherwise your box is scanning the channels it already has stored
