I ordered from Modchipworld.com
i got a great price on the HD Loader. 25 dollars. 8 dollars to ship 4 days to NY from Ontario Canada.
THe problem is....
the disc came with 2 strange glue/wax looking spots on it. One is on the inside of the disc, where there is no data stored.. the second is on the first inner ring of data on the dvd. Nothing can remove these marks.. I called the Modchipworld, and they asked me if i was the same person that called earlier about the wax on the HD loader. and i wasnt. so i know they are shipping out bad discs..
they told me to play around with it , that they get alot of people that send good discs back.. what a bunch of crap. im like there are two glue marks on the disc. SO they told me i have to pay to ship it back to them, and they will inspect it and see if its defective or not.
The first time it loaded up fine, got to lisence screen, and selected yes, and it crashed.
second time same thing..
third time and every other time, i get Can Not Read Disc error..
i am using the original PS2 30001, that i preordered, the earliest network adapter, and a preordered HDD that came with Final Fantasy..
Is this a disc problem, or a hardware problem ?
please someone help....

It is also the HD Loader version disc. not the HD Loader advance.
i prefered the blue on screen menus of the original HD loader to the HD loader advance on screen menu.
I just wish this damn thing would work...
sounds like its too good to be true... hope i can get it to work.

I just got the hd loader disk my self, The burn marks you are refering to I also have, but mine is working, it might be a hardware problem, I also ran into the problem that when I backup one of my games, and try to play it, I just get a black screen, that is cured by hitting the select button, before you pick your title, and they have 3 capability choices, and you have to pick which one, but once I did that every thing was fine

thanks for the quick response. Its very strange, becuase i have played with the disc. and have got it to read about 3 times out of 40 attempts.
i managed to get a game installed and run from it the 3rd time.
but after another 15 tries i just get disc read error, with one rare time, i got a red start up like screen, that says please insert a Playstation or Playstation 2 playable disc.
I took apart my ps2 and cleaned the lense, this usually fixes my disc read error messages.
I am almost positive it must be the disc, but if anyone has any ideas please tell me.
what hardware problem could it be??
Thats very odd you have the same two wax marks, what could that be all about??

I also have those 2 marks and I have not had a problem yet.
You can try adjusting the laser height and then putting the
PS2 in a vertical position.

i use my ps2 in the vertical pos as well. i tried it both ways.
how do u adjust the laser hieght?
its a disc read error, and only for the HD loader. i dont understand why it has those two marks on it. maybe i wasnt suppossed to clean them off..

I have ordered 2 of them from modchipworld and both of them worked great. Both had the strange glue/wax, but didn't seem to effect it. I've put them in 3 different PS2(all different version) and they all worked. I thought it was too cheap also, i was wary, but when i got the first one and it worked, so i ordered another. Honestly i would recommend modchipworld, but not for sure now

blunted, I'm having the EXACT same problem. 2 glue stains, as well as some scratches because the disc was floating in the case when i received it and not locked down. But yesterday I got it to read once.. and then followed by at least 25 disc read errors before I gave up again. And the company guys were just as much of an ass to me as well, making me want to pay for shipping to ship it back and wait now 3 times as long for a working product. has anyone ordered this anywhere else and had better luck? I'm thinking of just returning it, getting my money back, and ordering the same thing from somewhere else.

yo deanb ... here is the deal i felt exactly as u did...
the company guys were kinda mean, but i did find out that the disc was fine. most people have the glue stains on them as well.
the problem is with ur ps2. some earlier models have trouble reading dvds, and thats all it is. try that disc on someone elses ps2.
just turn the ps2 upside down, and count the rubber feet and other screw hole covers. if there is 10 its the very first model, and wont read it after long usage.
the one with 8 rubber feet should work better, i picked up a new ps2 and it works great.
the only trouble is you will not find a new ps2 in the box, they odnt make them anymore, only the slim style has been shipped in the last year.
u will have to get a refurbished one, so make sure it is a newere version style. models 390001 or up are def great, but u can still get a 300001 to play it, but just ask them if u can try your disc on it before u buy it, they let me.
if you goto gamecrazy, owned by hollywood video, you get 12 free game rentals with the purchase of a used ps2, and they had a better price than EB. 119.99
its a good xmas gift idea

if thats the case, then i think i'm going to try the HD Advance 2.0 first, since I cant afford a new ps2 right now. see if that reads better. but thanks for the heads up.

hmm. i only have 4 rubber feet on the bottom of mine. this isn't the newest model ps2, but not the oldest either. I traded my old one in about 2 years after launch for a new one. and yah, my biggest problem with the guys at Modworld are that they are dicks about all of it. After going back and forth in email for 3 days I finally call them and thats when they tell me the glue stain is normal. Still, its been nothing but trouble with them so i'm trying to return it to buy it somewhere else anyways. i'd rather support a company with decency.

yea mod chip world was very unprofessional i thought, and after all u are dealing with an ilegal software company, so get what u gamble with.
they put me on hold for 20 min on my cell fone peak when i asked about getting reinbursed for the shipping, and i ended up just calling back and they are like we cant do that. and then they are like, it prob works, we get them back all the time and they work fine.
but little do they know about they dont work on all ps2 s. the older ones in particular.
but yea modchip world is shit, i already put a post up somewhere like that, dont order from modchipworld or something
feel free to add on that one.

ha. i've been doing the same thing. normally i let things go, but when people screw with you in such a weasely shitbag kind of way, it makes me want to drive up to canada with a sword. and luckily, if all else fails in my life, at least I can always fall back on my hatred for them to keep me alive. and maybe if things go really wrong, i could just dedicate my life to ruining them. i could think of worse goals. ;)

This is too funny...LOL. I got 5 HD loaders from modchipworld and yes, the glue was on mine too but the glue is there to hide the factory number that is imprinted on the disk so that you can "have" your HD loaders. Took the glue away and everything was beautiful. Next time use the search function on this forum (Key word HD loader) before opening your dumb ass mouth noobs! LOL.

LOL man... god you are a loser. I work for modchipworld, modchipman, modchipteam, afterdawn and xbox-scene. LOL. Next time get a better comeback. If you don't have good facts to backup your case you should just give it up. Not everyone who has a different opinion than you works for the company that you are slamming. LOL. Time is too short is waste on losers like you.

::sigh:: some people are hopeless. guess i'll go back to noob land and train harder to stop being such a noob. i'll mail you my hd loader so you can now have a grand total of 6, which is a perfectly normal amount for anyone randomly posting on this board to have of the same disc from the same company.

I agree don't buy "Anything" from Modchipworld.com ! I paid $309.00 for a New chipped PS2, they sent me a refurbished V4 with a crappy laser. I sent it back to them, and then they sent me a refurbished V9 PS2.... They say "Brand-New PS2" when you order, but they didn't even bother to take the Refurb. sticker off of the back !!

And if "superd07" works for those CAN-Idiots, I turned your company into the FTC for sending products across our border without paying taxes. You know, claiming it wasn't bought in CAn-Da, it was just there for repairs....

Ouch. I guess losing only 30 dollars on an hd loader is nothing compared to what you must've been through. I wish there was some main site you could rate sites like theirs to warn off others. I've already left negative ratings on a few I've found, but it's a shame I can't find any centralized one. hopefully your call will initiate some kind of action against them for your sake. 300 dollars to get screwed.

Like I said dudes, I work for modchipworld, modchipman, modchipstore modchipnoob etc... Oh, I also work for Warner Brothers, Columbia Pictures, CIA etc... LOL. But seriously, looks like Megadeth is making shit up. Modchipworld hasn't sold the old V1 to V10 PS2s for like 2 months now. The Slims were only available systems around. Looks like your little bubble popped. Next time you want to flame someone else to get more business for yourself Megadeth, you should check your info first dumbass!
