Help....in need of a quick fix before 'er in doors finds out if fried her PS2!!

I removed a Messiah v1 and intended to put summot else in its place as it was less than reliable. PS2 now has no chip but will not work.

All the text is smudged on boot up, graphics are colour but there is little sound (I can hear the normal sounds in the back ground if i turn the sound right up but then get deafened by the static!)I've checked for continuity between all the legs but all seem ok.
Goes in to the browser but locks up from there onwards.

Any ideas?? hope im not gonna have to shell out for another.

Thanks in advance.

best guess seems like you have a short someware use a bright light and a magnifying glass to check around all the points were it was connected for solder splashes or bad connections

How do you get the solder off of some points that arent supposed to be soldered? Is it ok to scratch it out or something? Thanks.
