HELP!!! Loading Problem

Ok so you know Im a newbie here but have trolled this site for quite awile!
Heres the problem:
Trying to Backup Def Jam FFNY

Heres my stats:
PS2 (non modded) V4 I believe
Sway Magic 2.0
Flip Top Case

Heres what I have done trying to burn Def Jam:
Used Ridek G05 DVD - R Media using DVD Decrypter at 2X
(Really long load times, music skips and is choppy, just plain annoying)
Then tried this:
Used some cheap off brand DVD + R Media usuing DVD Decrypter at 1X
(Stops at loading screen, but it gets there so not a bad burn)

Since Im new I need help, what should I do, if you know how to fix this please give me Idiot proof directions since I only have been backing up for about a week now. Any other programs that may work better, any input would be much appreciated!!!
Just to add, I have used DVD Decrypter to burn a few other games with no problem, but I do have slow loading on Star Wars battlefront!

Don't use 8x media. Get some ritek 4x dvd-r

Ya, but the Hypermedia(off brand) is a 4X DVD + R and it wouldnt even get past the load screen???

you have had success so something changed. first thing i would do is clean the laser with a dvd cleaner disc, stick the jittery version in and stand your ps2 on different sides even upside down. common problem. if that fails better media is in order
