I use DVD Shrink, ive copied many disks... i know pretty muvh what im doing..

i have Ritek disks (the good ones....not shure the exact model...)

anyway..i thought that these disks would be good and i should have very few if no glitches..i was wrong..these disks are actually..not that good... i get glitches..not unwatchable but id say at least one every minute or so.

basically what i am asking is this...

maybe im doing something wrong?

what exactly do you do when u burn a disk? and what is the most likely cause of this problem... some disks have bad quality overall too...

i use CloneDVD to burn... could this be it?

if anyone who gets good results using dvd shrink post exactly (settings..ect) how they burn their disks.. and if u use a diff program besides clonedvd then ill try it..

i was using cheap-o disks before and everyone told me to get ritek...they dont seem much better

im using a Sony DRU510A

is there any issues with this burner?

my system specs
windows XP pro sp2
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
1gb kingston hyper X memory
and thats all that would matter..i gues...i dont think this matters though.

i usually burn at 2-2.4X should i use 1X... i dont know..

please help me...:)

Which Ritek's are your using? G04 or G05's? Also, make sure your firmware is up to date and try burning at 4x.

You could try some branded Verbatims.

kyleb1115,
What do you mean when you say glitches (explain)
What is the MID of your media?
How much are you compressing?
Are you useing deep analysis?
Is you f/w up to date?

Try burning it at a slower speed. Or what you can do is burn it to your hard drive first, then use your PC DVD player (PowerDVD) to play it off your hard drive. If you still see glitches, it may be DVD Shrink. Otherwise, I'd suspect your media or that you're burning it too fast.

I would hardly think burning at 2.4x is too fast.

I didn't read the very end about the 2.4X. :) I'd first suspect the media. Some burners like certain media regardless of how good it is. My burner loves RICOHJPN but hates Philips. Then there's the speed issue. Did you check in Device Manager to see DMA is enabled for your hard drive? Defragging also helps speed it up.
