No sound is heard during video clip playback

I have a Dazzle DVC II to capture video from VHS camcorder. When I first got it, my OS was Windows 2000. Everything worked fine. My power supplied fried everything that was connected to it so I had to rebuild my PC. I changed the Operating system to XP. Ive gotten everything else to work except the Dazzle stuff. It will capture the video fine, but there is no sound when I play it back. Pinnacle doesn't support the older Dazzle products so there wasn't much on their site as a solution. I've tried changing the Codecs priority level. I placed Microsoft PCM Converter" to level 1. I tried installing the card on another PC that has 98 on it and it has the same problem. I can try different capturing software and none of them have the sound.

When I record, there is sound playing through my sound card just none when I play it back. The software that came with Dazzle is MovieStar. It will play other clips fine that I didn't capture. I tried playing the clips back in Media Player, still nothing.

I would go out and just purchase a better capturing device but I want to make sure it's not my PCs that are the problem so I have really been trying to solve this problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
