Disk Not Formatted Problem

Hi
I'm new here so I will try to explain the best I can my problem.
I have done alot of research on this site and online, but still have problems.

ok this it it:
A few days ago, all of a sudden, my disk drive says
No Disk In Drive
then it says
Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format not compatible...blah,blah,blah
It doesn't spin when I put a disc in.

Around the time it happened I saw an Application Pop-Up saying something about Virtual Memory too low.
Also in the Event Viewer I see
The CDrom has a bad block
and somewhere else i have seen
Property Manufactor has been changed....

I tried to reinstall the cd drive but that didn't work
I have a Teac-DW2242
I have tried to increase the Virtual Memory but also no change.

I have tried pretty much everything I could find on this site but still no luck.
The device manager says Device is working Properly.

This is my roomates work computer so I am trying everything I can before he tells his IT people,
cuz they are not nice people.
