Howdy,

I captured about 45 minutes of video off a tape at the maximum quality setting, using my Dell Media Studio Plus. I ran it through TMPGenc Plus to encode it to DVD MPEG2 video (I'm trying to make a DVD with menus, etc, out of some home video footage.)

The TMPGenc-oded results were less than satisfying, with a HEAVY drop in framerate. Someone suggested I use a tool called Gspot to check the frame rate of the source .avi file, and sure enough, the frame rate was off by .001 -- 29.971 instead of 29.97.

Now I'm stumped. Is there any way to fix this without desyncing the sound? It's impossible for me to re-capture the video (long story), so now I'm left with nine gigs of perfectly good lookling video in an avi file that is, unfortunately, .001 fps away from success. :/

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated; so much in fact that I capitalized GREALY and I plan to give out candy to anyone who can help. I've got Smarties, Snickers and Skittles to motivate ya. ;)
