Hello.

Are you in america or europe. If you are in America then this means you have PAL games, which is the (mostly) Europe television standard (google it) and if you are in Europe this means you have NTSC games which is the American and other places. Now since you are using the flip flop method i believe you are also using Swap Magic, what you have to do is load the swap magic CD, not DVD, and when it loads select for video mode PAL or NTSC (depending on which game type it is from the text above) then eject your PS2 normally and it asks you to refresh the TOC (Table Of Contents) put in a large original ps2 game like any of the original GTA's, Tiger Woods works for me, when you put this in the TOC will refresh, now with the flipflop method change the CD to ur backup and hey presto.

Hi there
thanks for the info dude, tho it only came with a swap magic dvd, no cd (should of looked into this more before buying eh?) my mate also thinks its a PAL/NTSC problem and this can be solved by getting a different scart adaptor with all the pins. I'm in the uk and the ps2 scart lead only has 10 pins or something, do you think this is a good idea?
cheers

yep thats the problem, argos takes care of it mate, they have the right cable in their catalog for like 3.99, its called an RGB Scart lead, you can get ones online that are specific playstation ones but the argos one is fine.
