Breaker Pro - NTSC game on PAL machine

Eh I couldn't work out the best place to put this topic, but here seemed reasonable...

Anyway, I recently bought a PAL Breaker Pro for my PAL v7 machine, so I can play my NTSC-U PS1 games on my machine.
The disc menu lets you choose PAL or NTSC display mode, yet neither mode seems to display the games in NTSC for me. NTSC mode seems to be in PAL, with the image shifted to the other side of the screen...
In both modes, the game seems to overscan off the top or bottom of the screen slightly.
I know PS2 games display in NTSC fine, as do DVD movies and homebrew titles.

Anyone else get this problem? Is there some kind of disc I can put in after the Breaker Pro to force the screen mode to NTSC?
