HD Advance - Playing Games gives Black Screen

I recently purchased the HD Advance tool that plugs directly into the back of PS2. I made back ups of several of my games, successfully.

I load up HD Advanced for DVD which is what my original game was (NCAA Football 2005), and when I select that game to play, the screen just goes black.

Is this a known issue?

When I backed up my game, I used the little swapmagic plastic card to open the cd-rom, so that it could properly back-up, without thinking that you had ejected. This is what the instructions said to do. What else am I missing? Thanks!

Some of the games required compatibility mode to be turned on. "Select" on the controller will bring up the compatibility mode menu. Turn on "mode 3" for NCAA Football 2005 to work correctly.

Is there a place that indicates what mode needs to be set up for all games? I/e:

Madden 2005
Tiger Woods 2005

... Also, at which screen do you hit select? Thanks! You're the first person who has actually attempted to help me in my two months of seeking it!

The easiest way to find out which mode is needed is go to a search engine and type in hd loader game compatibility. I think the first selection has it. There is also another one: http://hdloader.cricex.com/ That has a search function and seems to be more up to date with the new games.

go to http://www.hdadvance.com/hd_advance_compatibility.htm
you choose "select" on your PS2 controller at the screen where it lists the games on your HD. A game not on the we site list that needs to be mode 3 is "Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone in the Complex". What I do is then renamed the game in hdadvance and put "mode-3" or whatever mode it needs to be so that way i know next time i'm in the hdadvance menu.
