i am having problems with a few dvds i own

i either get a picture but no sound or sound and no picture.

i have tried playing them on my other computer and they play no problem.

how do i find out what i need to get them to work on my main computer

is it because i am missing missing files or codecs?

i would be grateful for some help on this thank you
