burning vobs to a dvd-r

I have the vobs for my movie but whenever i try to burn them my dvd player cannot play them correctly. i think i am just burning them wrong, can anyone suggest a program to use. first i tried using "DVD to DVD copy", i first chose the directory (video_ts) and the burn was successful and all the vobs were on the cd, but it wouldnt' play in the dvd player. so, again with that program, i added the vobs and burnt it. i got part of my movie. next i tried using Nero and did a DVD-Video and put my vobs in the video_ts folder... again it didn't work. if anyone has any suggestions for me i'd appreciate it. thanks.
