RED SCREEN HELP!

I have a fliptop, swap magic disks and i used the swap magic disks succesfully to play gta san andreas the other day but it bout half hour to do this as the red screen kept coming up but need for speed loaded perfectly, now none of them load, i get to the swap magic screen where it says " Insert Disc " and open the fliptop and insert the backup and press X and it keeps going to a red screen on both games, as it worked before im sure it can't be the DVD-R's. can some help please,

1. maybe your laser needs cleaning or adjusting
2. poor quality dvdr media
